Eligibility Criteria for Solar Panel Installation Subsidy in India

Subsidy for solar panel installation is only available if you meet the following guidelines:

Customer Type

The subsidy is available only for residential consumers who install rooftop solar systems for domestic electricity use. Commercial and industrial properties are not eligible for financial assistance under the government rooftop solar subsidy scheme.

The applicant must be a consumer of an MNRE-registered DISCOM to qualify for the rooftop solar subsidy. The list of eligible DISCOMs is available on the official government rooftop solar subsidy portal.

Installer Registration

The rooftop solar system must be installed by a solar installer registered with your MNRE-approved DISCOM. Installations completed by unregistered vendors are not eligible for subsidy under the government scheme.

The installed solar panels must use DCR solar modules listed on the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM). DISCOM officials verify the installation before approving and releasing the subsidy amount.
